This resource contains four lesson plans to teach children all about the Easter story. It is suitable for ages 7 -11. The four lessons are:
1) Palm Sunday
2) The Last Supper
3) Good Friday
4) Easter Sunday
Each PDF plan contains detailed instructions, a list of objectives for three levels of abilities, a list of resources and cross-curricular links.
All the lessons contain an engaging starter, a whole class discussion or drama activity, written activity and plenary.
Each lesson also includes an animated PowerPoint containing the relevant part of the story. (These are not editable. Please click 'Read Only' to open. This resource is a plan for a lesson about The Last Supper, suitable for using with Key Stage 2. This resource is a comprehension booklet aimed at Lower Key Stage 2 (7-9 yrs). It is adapted from the Bible and tells the beginning of the Christmas story, when Angel Gabriel visits Mary.
There are three differentiated booklets. The higher booklet has two pages of text for the children to read before they complete a range of questions based on a mixture of the KS1 and KS2 SATs.
The middle and lower ability booklets have the text split into separate pages with questions on each page.

This is a set of three lesson plans to teach children about the fun Jewish holiday of Purim. It is suitable for ages 4-7. The plans are very detailed (9 pages plus resources). These lessons could be taught at any time of the year.
Lesson 1 contains a brief overview of Judaism and Purim. Lesson 2 focuses on the story of brave Queen Esther. Lesson 3 teaches the children about how Jewish people celebrate Purim.
Each lesson starts with a carpet session. The children then split into five groups for activities. These include drawing, storytelling, dressing up and crafts. This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for year 3 or 4. It is based on a combination of the KS1 and KS2 SATs reading papers and includes 3 differentiated levels.
There are a range of 'what,' 'why' 'how' and 'who' questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity contains five pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page. Answers are also included.
This comprehension is based on the Jewish festival of Purim. It tells the story of Queen Esther and describes how Jewish people celebrate her bravery now with the festival of Purim.
